BOLD Welcomes Members and Account Associates to its Fall 2021 Semester
With the beginning of a new school year, BOLD presented their client account teams during their first general body meeting on Tuesday, August 31st. The night called for eventful bonding as well as headlining their recurring segment “What’s BOLD Tonight?” coordinated by Atiya Pitaktrakul. The evening continued by revealing our client list and presenting the members who will go on to produce extensive brand-strategic marketing, creative content, research, and social media management.
The meeting began with a formal welcome to all BOLD members, excited for the beginning of another anticipated semester here at FIU. As President, Camille Garcia “looks forward to seeing how we will grow as students and what we can all accomplish, … we have a great group of members who I have no doubt are going to do an amazing job with their creativity, passion, and eagerness to learn!”. After a fully remote experience the past few semesters, BOLD is enthusiastic about its members being able to fully engage and participate in numerous opportunities, such as events, workshops, and networking the organization regularly offers.
The night was followed by the special feature “What’s BOLD Tonight?” in which the Director of Culture weighed in on what’s current in the world of communications and trending PR campaigns. Atiya further discussed the Naomi Osaka x Sweetgreen collaboration and its effort to highlight the significance of putting your physical and mental health first. The presentation brought back a past BOLD segment, “Ad of the Week”, in which a trending advertisement is shown and opens the floor to commentary on whether students see the ad as an effective campaign or not. This segment was introduced by presenting the “Feel Good Travel” campaign launched by the train-operated company, Avanti West Coast. The Director of Culture finished off her time by introducing the BOLD Bonding activity for the night. The “Desert Island” scenario involved members being split into breakout rooms and given ten items, with only four to choose from in a what-if storyline. With only ten minutes to complete, members returned to the main room to explain their team’s reasoning. As distinctive answers incited even more unique conversations, the segment ultimately brought all members together through teamwork.
The meeting concluded with the accounts reveal held by the Director of Accounts, Juanita Guzman. With an influx of new members, many were given the opportunity to take on new roles. The agency was also proud to see returning members promoted to Account Executives & Account Supervisors. The Fall 2021 accounts are as follows:
