BOLD Rings in the New Year with Spring 2022’s First Speaker, Samantha Lopez, Communications Manager at Loud and Live
The commencement of the Spring semester has finally arrived, and BOLD is off to a great start. Tuesday, January 25th, was a memorable moment for young professionals as members were able to adapt marketing processes, digital marketing efforts, and communication channels through FIU alumna Samantha Lopez. The meeting covered a healthy amount of intriguing Q&A, real-life scenarios, and opportunities for further professional development. In efforts to expand conversation across our industry, BOLD remains a frontrunner in discussing current events in the advertising world.
The general body meeting initiated its recurring segment “What’s BOLD Tonight?” hosted by the Director of Culture, Atiya Pitaktrakul, that began dialogue around the latest Twitter Campaign that deals with manifestation. This out-of-home advertising includes celebrities of today who in their adolescent years, tweeted their goals and dreams of hopefully one day making it in their respective professions. Members were energetic about how the campaign was not only successful in promoting Twitter’s usage of the platform, but also with how the advertising made them considerably reflective on affirming their own communications career as soon-to-be graduates.
One person who may be already walking in their own manifestation is Samantha Lopez, a FIU graduate turned Communications Manager for Loud and Live. Graduating from the university with her B.S. degree in Public Relations and M.S. degree in Global Strategic Communications, Samantha discussed previous professional experiences with Spanish Broadcasting System, Loud and Live, Nikki Beach and much more. Nowadays, Samantha’s main role inside one of the leading entertainment, marketing, and media companies in Miami is to construct campaigns from scratch and implement a fundamental marketing strategy throughout the journey. Samantha continued the presentation by introducing her path as a young professional and key takeaways she has adopted along the way.
Samantha displayed the standard marketing process that begins with honing an unique selling point for your brand to establishing a target audience, research, overall marketing plan, and a steady revision stage. She discussed in further detail how crucial it was to identify what kind of marketing channels one would optimize to enable the right kind of intention. The bulk of her efforts would mainly include evaluating each traditional marketing, digital marketing, communications, and advertising methods that would satisfy the overall marketing vision. Throughout her seminar, many were excited to learn how her involvement inside Loud and Live was able to reach mega Latin artists such as Maluma and Bad Bunny.
Samantha concluded her presentation by providing our BOLD members with the opportunity to apply as one of her summer interns operating with a great influence on social media and general marketing within her entertainment and events team. Members were more than happy to send their resumes after this engaging networking opportunity hosted by none other than BOLD. The gratitude continues as our first guest speaker for the Spring semester granted the organization another outlet to continue their professional journeys.
