BOLD Says Goodbye To An Unconventional Yet Amazing Fall 2020 Semester
BOLD held its final meeting Tuesday, December 1st to celebrate the end of an unconventional yet rewarding fall semester. The agency met one last time over Zoom to reflect, share stories, and say their goodbyes to the graduating members. Despite the special circumstances brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, BOLD was able to fully operate online and fulfill its mission of providing students with hands-on, real-world experiences in a professional agency environment.
The meeting was kicked-off by the usual account updates but with an end-of-the-semester twist where Account Executives shared their favorite memories with their team. Account Executive for Clutch Burger, Sophia Martinez, talked about the escape room bonding activity, “My favorite memory was the escape room, it was so fun and it brought us a lot closer together since we can’t see each other in person,”. Former Director of Culture, Daniela Gil, had to get creative about finding ways for students to bond with each other through the online limitations this semester brought on, making the virtual escape room activity a perfect solution.
The meeting was then followed by the BOLD Masked Singer activity where members shared videos of them singing with a filter on making them unrecognizable. Their peers then had to guess who was the singer behind the filter. Participants included: The Dancing Squirrel, Daniela Gil; Floating Fries, Patricia Menendez; Anime Boy, Alan Macaulay; Chicken Nuggie, Ashleigh Eckhoff; MiLemon Cyrus, Chris Abinader; Disco Dog, Carlos Ortiz; Rapping Unicorn, Tabetha Augustin; Hotty Doggy, Atiya Pitaktrakul; and S to the H to the R E K, Alejandra Chahine. The event was met with great enthusiasm from members, marking this semester’s final meeting as a memorable one.
Following in BOLD tradition, the highly anticipated Boldie Award winners were also announced. Winners included: Ashley Nunez as Most Likely To Get Away With Murder, Rafy Vasquez as Most Likely To Become TikTok Famous, Daniela Gil as Most Likey To Accidently Post On A Client’s Account, Kiza Cunha as Most Likely To Forget Their Face Mask, Ashleigh Eckhoff as Most Likely To Start Their Own Agency, and Anjali Caicedo as Most Likely To Start A Non-Profit. Winners for the two special categories of BOLD Fall 2020 MVP and Account Executive of Fall 2020 were Account Supervisor, Ashely Nunez, and Account Executive, Mariah Santana. The new Spring 2021 E-Board members were also announced consisting of Patricia Menendez as Director of Culture, Camille Garcia as Director of Operations, and Juan Hernandez as Creative Director. Patricia exclaimed her enthusiasm to start her new role, “I just want to say thank you E-Board, and thank you to my team, without you guys I wouldn’t have ever even considered this, you guys made my BOLD experience extra special and I just want to make everyone else’s experience as great as mine.”.
Fall 2020 semester said goodbye to many graduating members as well as three members of E-Board, Daniela Gil, Ashleigh Eckhoff, and Kiza Cunha. As the final meeting ended, they and other members got to share some final reflections from their experiences at BOLD. BOLD president Carlos Ortiz shared a heartfelt goodbye to his fellow E-Board members and wished them the best of luck with their future endeavors.
