BOLD Successfully Wraps-Up Its First Fully Virtual Semester
The BOLD Agency at FIU wrapped up semester operations on the week of November 30th to December 4th, closing out its first fully virtual semester. BOLD worked with a total of thirteen clients this fall, with nine in the Agency and four in BOLD Level 2 (ADV 4800), a 3-credit course taught by professor and BOLD Faculty Director Lilianne Savinon.
The clients in the extracurricular agency, which met virtually every Tuesday evening this semester came from diverse industries and had a wide range of work for our students to experience. FIU-affiliated clients included: FIU’s own External Relations, Casa Cuba, the Master of Public Affairs program, the Master in Global Strategic Communications program, the Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement of Women in Communications, FIU Theatre, the Miami Beach Urban Studios, Career and Talent Development, and FIU in DC. Outside clients were: Clutch Burger, Lina Zuniga Makeup, PaulAllen Career Coach, and Dedicated Cooling.
Accounts leadership and associates worked to plan and execute social media campaigns, marketing strategies, and creative work for all clients based on their various objectives. All work completed was summarized and presented virtually to each client last week. Each presentation was attended by Professor Savinon, as well as BOLD President Carlos Ortiz and Director of Accounts Maria Duque.
The highlights of the client work were the campaigns created by the team for FIU External Relations, especially the graduation campaign which allowed students to celebrate their graduation and best college memories on social media. The Lina Zuniga Makeup team worked on several product launches of the Makeup and Artist Hand Palettes across social media platforms. The PaulAllen Career Coach team rolled out an extensive and holistic communications plan that included copywriting and several social media campaigns.
This was the first semester BOLD operated completely virtually and had fully online students in both membership and leadership. Even while functioning remotely in the middle of a pandemic, BOLD was able to deliver professional work to its clients while providing its members with practical, hands-on experience.
